Motivation is the Key?

I have been potty training my son for about a year now. He does really well for days, then just loses interest I guess. As a final plea for sanity and less laundry and more happiness all around I created these stickers.

It really is working! When the chart is filled, my son has earned himself a prize. I can't say he hasn't snuck a couple extra stickers on every so often, but I don't really think I care at this point. Because this is really working for us! Hooray!

Friends are a good reality check!

Hi there, I am in a "Stitch and Bitch" group of fun and diverse ladies. We get together and do the above, plus share yummy treats together. I saw these minty cookies in a magazine and decided to bring them to our last meeting.

I was a little upset that "my" cookies were not perfectly square, and not as beautiful as the photo in the magazine, but I took them anyway. Once I got there one of my pals asked me if I bought them or made them. After I pointed out their imperfections which proved that I had made them, she proceeded to make fun of me and my "tendencies."

The point is, the cookies were a little too delicious and we had a great night goofing around, and maybe next time I will bring something really ugly and misshapen just to throw them off my scent.

It's a disease, and it runs in the family

So we know my daughter, husband and myself have this need to create and use our artsy brain cells. We have wondered about our three year old son, and whether he will join us in our creative wanderings, or if he will have some amazing math skillz or whatever.

So we were quite amused to find this little project a couple of evenings ago. He asked me for some stickers while I was making dinner. Later he proudly presented this...

A fun book!

My friend gave me this book for Christmas, she said it reminded her of me. I was so excited to snuggle up and read it, because I am a bookworm. It was a rather fun read, and gave me some ideas for the valentines I was thinking about at the time.

I am pleased with how they turned out. The message in a bottle and the skeleton key were esp. fun to make. I can't wait to give these out when it is closer to Valentines day.
